Artist Statement: Gratitude, to us, is a meditative practice that develops with regular attention. The Wheel of Gratitude has no beginning, end, or primary segment. It represents the many things for which we’re grateful. The sterling silver wheel contains 6 designs meaningful to us but open enough to inspire any wearer’s associations. To us, the citrine set in a compass rose symbolizes the sun and the texturized circular embellishment the moon. They remind us that gratitude should be a daily practice, moment by moment. The teardrop garnet and the topaz/zircon/peridot setting represent our families and loved ones. The anatomical scribed copper heart focuses us on our health, and the love we give and receive. Finally, the brass arrow represents our lives’ direction and purpose. The rim has a strip of rose gold. The bracket is sterling with copper mounts for the hand-formed sterling chain. The wheel is attached via a handcrafted bolt of sterling and ancient bronze topped with imperial topaz.
