Artist Statement: This piece was fabricated in 2020. It was named the “Floating Promise” pendant for the connecting elements which hold a floating pink tourmaline in a gesture of hope. On the 20th anniversary of 9/11, I made the commitment to dedicate proceeds from the sale of this piece to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, a fund which continues to honor the promise of supporting secondary education for the children of those severely affected or killed during the 9/11 attacks. I myself was a new medical student on that horrid day twenty years ago. I vividly remember leaving school snd racing through the streets of Boston to get to the train after seeing the news. Understanding my educational privilege at that time in my life and now, I care deeply about helping those in need pursue a higher education. 20 years after the attacks, there are still 3000 children left to support.

50% of the sale of this piece will be donated to the beneficiary listed above.
