Artist Statement: Contemplating gratitude, change, and acceptance and recognizing their relationship can be a deeply personal experience for us all and can help us gain a deeper understanding of these invisible, abstract concepts. Whenever I make spirals, it's like meditating. It helps me connect with my inner self and to be more accepting, grateful, and open. When I reach a challenging point in my life, I just create another spiral element.

Up until recently, I had no idea that this symbol found throughout nature, biology, and space was considered by my ancestors as a symbol of life force and self-growth.

In essence, spiral patterns are thought to help our minds to accept the twists and turns, as well as the very evolution of life itself. Imagine how liberating it would be to embrace every moment and every change with a grateful heart and a calm mind!
