Artist Statement:
I often ask the viewer or the wearer of personal adornment to step outside of their comfort zone. Push the limits, bend the rules, roll up their sleeves and challenge the ideals of perfection. I do not seek to express perfection, I seek authenticity. I seek the truth within the layers. I seek the nitty gritty, the weathered, the worn, the discarded, the overlooked. We all have rough edges, rough edges we try so damn hard to conceal. I choose to reveal those flaws, to embrace the ragged, the wild, the raw. It is in these moments, moments of pushing our own limits while howling wildly at the moon, we will discover ourselves.

Artist Bio:
This is how it began: a woman, a road, a sense of adventure, a yearning for experience. Growing up on a farm in the midwest, my love for the outdoors started early as a wild child running barefoot through fields of wheat. A chance arose to hit the road, to explore the rest of the country, so I loaded the car with few necessities: tent, Nikon, change of clothes, and so hit the road. Expansive landscapes were revealed: mountains, canyons, mesas, ocean, deserts, rivers, beauty never experienced before. I became breathless, insatiable. My world expanded from flat to voluptuous, from passive to dynamic. For years, I camped, explored, hiked, rafted, howled at the moon, and camped some more. I became passionate about sharing with others my love of the rugged and ragged beauty of the western landscape, guiding tours for an adventure travel company called Green Tortoise, exploring the United States, Mexico, and Central America, driving vintage 1956 tour buses. And then, there was the circus.
