Artist Statement:
My design is inspired by the state of flow – in a transcendental and also literal way. In Zen philosophy 'the flow' means going with the current and letting go - an action of non-action. As an artist I'm fascinated by the materials and their properties – especially changing form from solid to liquid. The shape of the ring was inspired by the movement of sea plants and the water itself.
It has been sculpted and cast in bronze, then patinated, polished and sandblasted.

Artist Bio:
Born in Poland, based in Scotland. Currently working on her degree collection in Silversmithing and Jewellery at Glasgow School of Art.
Her designs use variety of media - from digitally printed fabrics to bacteria grown biocellulose.
Her work is inspired by the elements of the unexpected. The materials lead the process of design, making it flow in a natural way. The methods combine traditional, sometimes ancient craft with modern techniques like laser cutting and digital printing.
