Artist Statement: This ring is about courage. How much wax I dare to carve away so, that the structure would not collapse. My intention was to create something strong but aerial in view. Something like foam, where a little fluid and a lot of air creates a strict geometrical, but still organic looking structure. This is a piece of hand carved foam, where every bit of wax that I carved away took me closer to the potential failing. When to stop? How much nothing keeps balance with how much something?
