Alex Boyd | Failed Flux Capacitor #37
Artist: Alex Boyd, Colorado
Materials: Kingman Turquoise, lab diamonds, 22k gold, 18k gold, sterling silver
Artist Statement: For over a decade I been working on a time machine. I’ve got almost everything I need to go back in time to kill baby Hitler, save JFK, and convince Halle Berry not to do Moonfall, but I just can’t get the flux capacitor to work. This is my 37th attempt. It managed to take me back to 1990 but when I arrived I was a 7 year old child instead of the 39 year old man child I am today. If I go far enough back to kill Hitler I worry I’ll no longer exist, but I refuse to give up. If you buy this failed experiment know that 100% of the proceeds will go towards another most likely futile attempt to warp the space time continuum.
Artist Bio: Alex Boyd is a very serious artist. If you don’t get it it’s not because there’s nothing to get, it’s because you don’t understand art. He’s dealing with serious themes that challenge our preconceived notions of subjects and ideas relevant to the most pressing existential conundrums of modern existence and stuff like that. He’s a true iconoclast. When he’s not smashing icons or being forcibly ejected from various houses of worship for smashing their icons he’s making art that your two year old couldn’t come close to making so don’t even try that shit.
