Modern Kidney Pool Collar Necklace

The call to create pieces with the theme, Links to the Past, inspired me to make this body of work. I decided on something with a Danish Modern feel, for my mom's heritage, with a design element derived from a classic California swimming pool, a kidney pool, for my dad who designed and built pools in this style. In the case of this necklace, the kidney shaped elements overlap and decrease in size towards the back for a very comfortable fit. The closure is concealed to create a continuous line but is very easy to take on and off. These pieces are all bead-blasted for a satin finish, with a high polish edge and backside. This collar style necklace is elegant and very flattering.
