Egyptian symbol that represents the emblem or nameplate of a person- in ancient times typically one of the rulers or Pharaohs had their name/identifying hieroglyphs inscribed within the oval shape. It serves as a talisman of protection for the bearer, the evil-eye, and prosperity/good luck. When I create designs based on the cartouche it manifests specific themes: calling protection from High, and an entry point or "keyhole view" of a path to the wisdom of past.My designs are interpretations of this sacred symbol- they are hand fabricated in wax and cast in precious metal.

These earrings are part of LOBES: An Invitational Earring Show on display in the Danaca Design Gallery Showroom through December 24, 2023. View the entire collection online HERE.
