DeAnna Puls - Cast Daisy Cuff
This piece was part of the Yukata Jewelry Show 2022 exhibition. Learn more and view the entire collection HERE.
Artist: DeAnna Puls
Materials: sterling silver, shibuichi, 14kt gold, pink sapphire, yellow zircon
Dimensions: 3" x 2"
Artist Statement: I have been experimenting with casting small shapes in charcoal out of recycled metals, and when I saw the fabric, I knew I wanted to try to create a flower with this method. Each petal of the central flower was cast individually out of shibuichi (an alloy of silver and copper). I enjoyed making this piece as a literal representation of the fabric. The cuff was made by fusing silver shavings and dust onto a hand forged band. The central sapphire's bezel was rolled from 14kt gold as a small accent to compliment the color of the stone.
