Artist: Helen Cowart
Materials: fine silver, gold keum-boo, copper
Dimensions: 2-3" in diameter, straight pin with latch

Artist Statement: I love flowers and making small watercolors of them. I have a particular affinity for painting rhododendron, so I lept at the chance to make one in metal. The brooch is fine silver with 22k gold to embellish the petals. It's a tribute to the Pacific Northwest's rich heritage and luscious greenery.

Artist Bio: Helen Cowart is a traditionally trained artist who fell in love with kiln-formed glass and metal. She creates art for viewing and wearing; pieces that are connected and speak with the same voice. Helen’s work is informed by her environment, both internal and external. Much of it is meditative in nature, creating a place for the viewer that is quiet and thoughtful. She also creates to express her delight in color, line, shape, and texture. Helen is a Seattle Metals Guild member and volunteer currently residing in London, England.
