Ben Cooke-Akaiwa - Diamond Diamond Ring
Artist: Ben Cooke-Akaiwa, Indiana
Materials: sterling silver, irradiated diamond
Dimensions: 1.25" x 0.25"
Artist Statement: A hollow constructed silver diamond houses a brilliant red counterpart. Oxidized silver contrasts beautifully with the rich stone. This minimalist take on a diamond ring sits comfortably on the finger, the hollow form raised above the band to prevent the sharp points from digging in. This ring is a size 7.5 and the perfect accessory to anyone seeking a statement ring.
Artist Bio: Ben is a jeweler and metals artist in Bloomington, IN. He graduated from Indiana University in May of 2019 with a BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design. He has supplemented his education through workshops at Arrowmont Craft School and an apprenticeship in Japan.
