Nina Weidner | Charivari
Artist: Nina Weidner, MI
Materials: Sterling silver, antler, teeth, bone, quartz crystal, Herkimer diamond
Size: 7.5 (Can't be resized)
One of a kind
Artist Statement: Inspired by 19th-century Germanic jewelry; an assortment of charms attached to a watch chain, worn on belts. Often trophies from hunts, believed to bring good luck, becoming heirlooms. Charivari, meaning madness or commotion, reflects the variety of talisman hung together. My goal was to capture that feeling with a more modern and sleek look. These treasures were found in nature or vintage collections. Each showcases elements that continually inspire my work. Can also be worn as a necklace.
Technical Process Info: Fabrication, Casting
Artist Bio: I am a self-taught artist and designer, driven to continuously create something new since I was young. I possess skills in realism illustrations, painting, leather work, woodwork, sewing, and jewelry making. Nature serves as a great inspiration for my artwork, as I incorporate earthy colors, textures, and tones in my creations. My aim is to inspire others to perceive nature with the same awe and fascination that I do.
