Tyler Haas | Dead Ringer

Artist:  Tyler Haas, OR
Materials: Sterling Silver, Brass, Moissanite and Garnet
Size: 6.5 (Can't be resized)

One of a kind

Artist Statement:  Inspired by steampunk art, I wanted the gears on the side of the head to be functional rather than just decorative. Turning the ornate top hat clockwise activates the gears which open the jaw, transforming the piece into a ring. The gears simultaneously move a prong-set 4 mm garnet into the hollow eye socket. The aviator-style monocle on the right is set with a 4 mm moissanite. The piece comes with an ornate brass stand for displaying the ring.

Technical Process Info: The skull and mandible are each hand carved and cast using lost wax. The hat and gears are fabricated; hand cut from sheet silver and brass.

Artist Bio: Tyler is an artisan jeweler living in Bend, Oregon. His usual jewelry style could best be described as medieval fantasy/elven; however he loves discovering new techniques, ideas, and mediums that feed his passion for creativity. He thrives on pushing the bounds of what is possible in jewelry, creating exceptional and unique pieces of wearable art.
