Artist Statement: The neckpiece “Diamonds versus Tigers” is an expression of creating and developing a strong personal language concerning vanishing species from our planet. Through the formal arrangement of form, elements and drawings a strong statement is created. The piece represents a metaphysical visualization that if universal circumstances concerning endangered species are ignored they will be lost forever. The necklace can be read literally and clearly that without everyone’s intervention, involvement and support our planet will diminish the diversification of wildlife. Universal social beliefs is diamonds are forever and precious while vanishing endangered are not and this has to change. The public/viewer has to mandate that wildlife is precious and needs our protection; otherwise, their existence is lost. There are fewer than 3,900 tigers left in the world while diamonds are as commonplace and numerous as grains of beach sand. Please support the WWF, Thank you!
