Harry Caldwell - Flower Power
Artist: Harry Caldwell, California
Materials: up-cycled silver dime, sterling silver
Dimensions: 18mm, 3mm
Artist Statement: Flower Power is a statement of the beauty found in minute details of common items. The smallest flowers contain details only those who slow down can appreciate. Similarly it is easy to overlook the value of one thin dime. This ring invites the viewer to take a second look and appreciate the beauty found in fine details.
Artist Bio: Harry Caldwell currently hand engraves jewelry and coins out of his California studio located in West Marin. Originally from Michigan, Harry studied jewelry design in Seattle. While working as a custom jewelry designer he learned the art of engraving and found his primary artistic outlet and passion. After 10 years in Seattle he went independent and traveled the country engraving live at art festivals and coin shows. He has shared his passion for design and up-cycling with everyone he meets. Leaving engraved love tokens and hobo coins across the country he has helped re-ignite the collection of altered coinage in a time when coin collecting has seen dwindling numbers of new collectors. Settling down in the SF Bay Area in 2019 Harry discovered a renewed purpose and drive in raising children.
Rings from this collection will ship or be available for pick up after the competition concludes on April 29.
