Artist Statement:
This ring was carved out of a solid chuck of Rutilated Quartz! A natural material with beautiful golden, hair-like inclusions. The "rutilations" in this piece of quartz are so delicate, but the high dome of the ring magnifies them and lets them catch all the light they can. I love a big statement ring, and couldn't let this ring be subtle, so I made it as big as my original chunk of quartz and comfort would allow. Sunlight has a tendency to get absolutely trapped in this ring and it can appear as a bright glowing orb, but at the same time completely clear against the skin.
