Laurel Karnecki | Habitable

Artist: Laurel Karnecki, Indiana
Materials: sterling silver, 14k yellow gold, dendritic agate
Size: 8.5

Artist Statement: Hand carved and fabricated band connects to layers of silver at the ring top. The lower layer curls around the finger and houses the setting for a natural dendritic agate. The upper layer creates an orbit around the stone and frames compass-like arrows hand carved in 14k yellow gold. Finished with a polished surface oxidation.

Artist Bio: Using recycled metals, untreated stones and other natural materials, Laurel hand builds each piece as a wearable work of art. Simple metal frames compliment the stones, often being cradled by chain in her signature “path setting™”. Laurel pays careful attention to detail and regularly creates unique interest with her chain-work and meticulous fabrication.
