Luiza Hermeto | Breast Nest

Artist: Luiza Hermeto, Brazil
Materials: Silver, oxidized silver and 24k gold.
Size: 8 1/4

Artist Statement: There is no better place than close to the breast of a loved one. A true nest.

The drawer of the human body that keeps the sweetest memories and the most magical sensations.

Breast that feeds, calms and brings peace. Like a breeze, a slow hug amid chaos.
Vibrating with the heart beats, in the lullaby of the movement. Balance of internal, external. Past, present, future. So many feelings.
A reminder of the most precious things, like genuine love for yourself and others. Life. Our magnificent machine, the human body.
At the middle you see a 24k gold nipple, like a little seed, calling attention to the power of drops of love passed from generation to generation, on the eternal cycle of life.

Artist Bio: Always inspired and guided by the Hermetic philosophy I believe that making jewelry is an eternal evolving process, where I get to know me, and other people, better.
I live in Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais, Brazil, a perfect place to be, also, inspired by exuberant nature.
I studied Graphic Design and contemporary art and have been making metal jewellery since 2013. I love it so much.
The pieces I make seek to provide an experience that goes beyond jewelry as an accessory.
Conceptual objects that carries symbolic and intangible values.
Unique pieces that look for unique bodies to wear.
That's why they seek to be comfortable, light and with movement, thus reflecting the changing and fluid aspect of our essentially human bodies in a mundane existence, without ceasing to observe the universe that surrounds us.
