Artist Statement: Fabricated from sterling silver to represent northward nighttime views - mountain ranges, starry skies, and showing of the aurora within the Labradorite gemstone. The range that circles the band spins, representing an ever changing landscape. It's a fun ring that one can fidget with a little.
Technical Process Info: This ring was fabricated using sterling silver sheet, and wire. It was cut, reshaped, and soldered to form. The labradorite gemstone was handset using a hammer and punch.
Artist Bio: Carrie found a passion for making jewelry as a teenager while working as an apprentice jeweler. She was originally hired to do beadwork – learning the basics in metalwork opened a new chapter. She currently works from her home studio in Fairbanks, Alaska. Her work is crafted with classic techniques and often influenced by her environment.
