Darragh Kerr | Over the Moon
Artist: Darragh Kerr, WA
Materials: Sterling silver, 18k gold
Size: 7.25 (Can't be resized)
One of a kind
Artist Statement: The Over the Moon ring is a one-of-a-kind creation hand fabricated from recycled sterling silver. This ring gave me an opportunity to play, to create something joyful, and to practice a new skill: carving silver. The ring features a hand carved cow jumping over a hollow form moon. The reticulated silver face of the hollow form resembles the moon’s surface. A hand carved star moves the cow across the moon.
Technical Process Info: The Over the Moon ring is entirely hand fabricated. I carved the cow and star from melted down silver scraps. The moon is a hollow form with a reticulated sterling silver face. I fused silver dust to the band and added 18k gold chips.
