Sarah Sindler | Spotted Lanternfly

Artist: Sarah Sindler, Pennsylvania
Materials: sterling silver, 14k gold, garnet, watch glass, Spotted Lanternfly
Size: 7

Artist Statement: Spotted Lanternflies are invasive insects from Asia taking a huge toll on the natural environment, affecting the Northeastern part of the USA and spreading rapidly! One of the only tactics in place to control these bugs is to squish them but encasing them in a shadow box is a better way to kill them, while also showcasing their beauty. This Spotted Lanternfly shadow box ring is fabricated in sterling silver, oxidized, and finished with a glittering texture. It is a three-finger statement ring with an adjustable band worn on the index and ring finger and would fit a size 5 to a size 10. The Lanternfly is held in place with a 14-karat gold and garnet pin in the shadow box and it's quite a stunner.
