The Platform Ring is an empowering statement piece. This ring represents the power in each of us to make our voices heard and to stand up, unapologetically, for our beliefs and our human rights. The fiery garnet symbolizes the passion inherent in those who choose not to stay silent, even in the face of oppression.

This platform is a hollow form construction built from sterling silver sheet. The face of the ring features a glowing Rhodolite Garnet cabochon, set in fine silver. The sterling silver has roller printed texture, adding an industrial element and more literal representation of the traditional railway platform. The double layer band is tapered, representing the ability of the spoken voice to travel far and wide.

Artist Bio: Shira is a lifelong artist, and contemporary jewelry designer and maker. Primarily self-taught, she began her journey in hand fabrication in 2019, working tirelessly to acquire the skills needed to create one-of-a-kind, wearable art pieces that felt true to her vision. Shira's work is intuitive, edgy, symbolic and influenced by her love of nature. Each piece is designed to complement the natural beauty of the human body and inspire joy for the wearer.

Shira works out of her home studio near Boston, MA. When not at her bench covered in silver dust, she can be found hiking in the forest, caring for young patients as an active pediatrician and enjoying life with her husband, three children and doodle Charlie.
