Artist Statement: Inspired by decoration and functionality, the ring is make out of silver wire and sheet to mimic a traditional Chinese lantern. There is candle wax in the middle, which can be lit.

Artist Bio: Born in Sichuan and raised in Shenzhen, China, Sishi Wang started her university experience in 2011, majoring in Public Administration at Guangdong University of Education in China. After two years, she took advantage of a “Work and Travel” program which brought her to the United States. She found her passion for metalsmithing by taking a jewelry design class at the College of the Albemarle in North Carolina. Sishi received a BFA in Metal Design at East Carolina University in 2019. She started her MFA at IU in 2020. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally and has been published in Transformation in Contemporary Enamels.
