Suna Bonometti | Rosy de Palma

Artist: Suna Bonometti, New York
Materials:  sterling silver
Size: 6

Artist Statement: This ring is modeled after one of my muses Rossy de Palma, a Spanish actress with a prominent nose. She was in many of Pedro Almodovar's movies I used to watch when I was growing up. Probably because I also have a prominent nose I have been fascinated by women and men who were lucky enough to be born with sculptures on their noses. This ring is the first of a series I will be working on where I portray people's noses. My focus will be the bigger and more sculptural the better.

Artist Bio: Suna Bonometti’s jewelry is a composition of primary forms carefully assembled to create enduring designs. Bold yet minimal details place sometimes only where the wearer will see the delight in their sophistication and function. Each design is a portal of memories for the one that chooses to wear them. Suna's focus is on making long-lasting objects that will bring joy. We work in small batches, and all the work is designed and made in our Queens, New York City studio. Suna Bonometti founded her namesake brand in 2018. Since then her collection has been designed and made with the utmost attention to detail. Her main focus is on jewelry, but she is interested in furniture design, lighting, painting, tattooing, and many other artistic expressions.
