Jewelry Pop Up with Carolina Andersson and April Ottey
Saturday, DECEMBER 11, 12-5pm
Mark your calendars to join two of our MOST POPULAR artists in the gallery for a JEWELRY POP UP! Saturday, December 11, 12-5.
We are excited to host the second of our opening events in the new GALLERY SHOWROOM with Carolina Andersson and April Ottey! We've teamed up with these two talented artists to bring you an afternoon of incredible handmade jewelry, much of it not available online.
April casts natural objects she collects and reimagines them into her own contemporary artistic vision, creating something wholly new: adornments that catch the eye and rouse the spirit.
Carolina hand fabricates from sterling silver, often using oxidation and keum-boo, a Korean technique for fusing a very thin layer of gold to silver, to produce striking black and gold jewelry fit for a queen.
If you live in or near Seattle, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to shop from a fantastic selection of their work. Not only that, you’ll MEET THE ARTISTS! This will be a fun day, please stop by!
Masks are currently required at all times and capacity will be limited to 5 shoppers at anytime.
VIP private shopping appointments may be scheduled during the hour before this event. Go HERE to reserve your spot.
Location: Danaca Design SHOWROOM.

About the Artists
Carolina Andersson
Originally from Sweden, Carolina Andersson has studied jewelry making in Italy and here in Seattle. Her work is created from sterling silver (often oxidized) and keum-boo, a Korean technique for fusing a very thin layer of gold to silver. Of making jewelry by hand, Carolina says, “Doing every step of the process by hand gives me a sense of connection with the places and the people that have practiced this art and handed down their techniques through time.

April Ottey
April Ottey is a jewelry artist whose work explores the transformative power of nature. She focuses on the intricate details of the natural world—the architecture, texture, and shape of natural artifacts—in order to draw attention to the beauty surrounding us that we too often overlook. April casts natural objects she collects and incorporates her own contemporary artistic vision, and in the fusion of the two, creates something wholly new: adornments that catch the eye and rouse the spirit.
In her home studio on the Washington coast, crafting jewelry has become her full-time job. She uses traditional casting techniques to transform the natural items she collects into sterling silver and gold. She then embellishes many pieces with beach stones and gemstones using traditional metalsmithing techniques. She uses ethically-sourced metals and stones, and she takes great care in the craftsmanship of each piece.
