Michael Nashef Jewelry Pop-Up!
September 22, Thursday, 5:30 – 7:30
Danaca Design Gallery Showroom
I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Nashef last February when he presented at the Yuma Art Symposium. He is a dynamic and multitalented artist with an extensive background in traditional jewelry making. Traveling all the way from Michigan, he will share his secrets of concrete in jewelry making. This is a super exciting opportunity for anyone looking for new ideas. Concrete is a versatile material and it is down right cheap, so you can’t go wrong!
Born in war torn Lebanon and moved to the United States in 1998, Michael Nashef has earned his M.F.A in Metals/Jewelry Design from Bowling Green State University. Nashef has managed a jewelry store, worked as a CAD designer, launched his fine jewelry company Intersecting Hearts, and invented few tools that are used in the jewelry industry. He worked as the area coordinator and lecturer at Towson University in Maryland, and currently is an instructor at Western Michigan University. Nashef has an extensive record of exhibition including solo and international shows, and had won many awards, including being aquired by the MAD museum in New York city. He is published in books such as JaMs and New Bracelets.
