Saturday, April 29 Barbara Knuth will introduce you to this industrial material with virtually unlimited applications. If it can tolerate a bit of heat, you can powder coat it!
This exploratory and technical workshop, will teach participants the techniques and methods for applying a decorative powder coat to a variety of surfaces including metal, wood and whatever else you bring to try! The class will cover the preparation of surfaces for coating, the application process, and the proper use of equipment and materials. Additionally, students will learn advanced techniques such as layering and masking to create unique, one-of-a-kind designs. If you’re looking to incorporate more color or intriguing surfaces to your work this class will provide you with the skills and knowledge to, powder coat it! Basic metalworking skills is helpful for cutting metal shapes to coat but not necessary. This workshop is great for any artist so spread the word!
